Hollywood Brazilian Film Festival

The American Cinematheque is thrilled to partner with the Hollywood Brazilian Film Festival in its 16th year to bring some of the most exciting Brazilian Cinema to Los Angeles. The festival is dedicated to promoting talents from Brazil’s Cinema who contribute to transforming the Brazilian film culture and represents the best of independent Brazilian cinema made in the past year.

7:00 PM: BABY at Los Feliz Theatre

After being released from a juvenile detention center, 18-year-old Wellington (Baby) finds himself alone and adrift on the streets of São Paulo, without any contact from his parents and lacking the resources to rebuild his life. He encounters Ronaldo, a mature man, who teaches him new ways of surviving. Gradually, their relationship turns into a conflicting passion.
