Fotinos Vineyard
For over 40 years, the Fotinos family has nurtured this vineyard which produces some of the finest wine grapes in the Napa Valley.
The vineyard is located on the Old Sonoma Road, just south of Buhman Creek in the Carneros region of Napa Valley. The vineyard is dedicated to growing Pinot Noir grapes, exclusively. Pinot Noir clones consist of Dijon UC 115, Pommard, and Calera Selection. The combination of mild climate, soil and grape combine to produce superior quality grapes. These grapes are sought after by several of the leading wineries in the valley.
George brings a great respect for nature and love of the earth to his farming efforts. He learned the fine art of viticulture from his father Christos, who immigrated from the Greek island of Lefkas in 1910. Once he began growing his own grapes with his brother Tom in 1969, George educated himself in modern viticulture and wine-making techniques, thus bringing together the Old World and California styles.
The Fotinos Vineyard has grown and developed along with George and Vivian and their family. Their daughters, Angela, Margaret, and Elaine, have shared their father's interest in farming and have worked alongside him over the years.
