Pitty and Dodi have an open marriage where extramarital relationships are fully accepted. Still, Pitty remains unsatisfied. She leaves Dodi to pursue her own path.
Tereza Trautman was 21 when she directed her first film, OS HOMENS QUE EU TIVE (THE MEN THAT I LOVED), a rebellious story about a woman in a polyamorous relationship seeking meaning in romance, friendship and self-expression. The year was 1973 and the Brazilian Military dictatorship was coming down heavily on films that went they perceived as subversive. After an extremely successful three-week theatrical run, the film was shut down by the censorship, only to be released again in 1980 in a trimmed down version. In 2023, fifty years after its initial release, the film was restored by the Cinemateca Brasileira in partnership with Cinecolor Brasil laboratory, delivering a new 4K copy that’s a feast for the eyes.
