Eli Madyson Vineyards
When the children left for military service and college the home was quiet and the land was in need of attention…my father and I often spoke of a vineyard and in 2005 Elizabeth and I decided to go forward with our plans to grow grapes. This endeavor has involved a great amount of hard work and patience…but in 2007 we produced a crop that was good enough to make wine Bob Cab in honor of my father, was the realization of a dream. Duncan Williams, the winemaker at Fallbrook Winery was instrumental in giving life to our dream Jeff Landolt and Richard Hood were supportive and optimistic that we could produce some good wine
In 2008, we released our Eli Madyson Vineyards brand. Vernon Kindred and Duncan Williams artfully created a light but fruit forward Cabernet Sauvignon with an awesome nose. The 2009 vintage was released at the end of 2010 and the reviews were that it was a great success exhibiting red fruit with complimentary tannins for a medium Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2010 Cabernet showed the progress and development of wine character and complexity. Great nose, subtle mid palate and a hint of finish. The 2011 EMV Cabernet vintage revealed the character of 26 months in French oak, a delicious nose, smooth mid palate and a delightful lingering finish.
In 2014 EMV moved the wine making to a new and exciting winery call 2Plank Vineyards. Jason Wimp and Dave Bridgeman welcomed our brand and provided the home for wine making, tasting and sales. Winemaker, Mike Szymczak has created a winner with Mitigation. Our 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon is by far our best and the California Red Blend will be a great table wine. 2016-2017 provided the affirmation and rewards of many years of hard work and persistence. 2013 Mitigation Blend, awarded Silver Medal at Orange County Fair AND 92 points by Wine Enthusiast, 2012 and 2014 Eli Madyson Vineyards, Cabernet Sauvignon, awarded 88 points by Wine Enthusiast.
