Drawing For Teens (Spring)
Tuesday, April 30, 2024 from 04:00pm to 05:30pm
Kala Art Institute
Kala Art Gallery
2990 San Pablo Ave.
During this 9-week course, participants will focus on drawing as a form of design and imagination. Teens will learn how to use drawing skills to draw things that they cannot see or observe in the world around them, but rather that come from their own imaginations and ideas. Students will practice prompts and assignments that encourage them to generate new and creative ideas and learn about drawing as the most immediate way to capture an idea as it appears. All levels are welcome. Differentiated instruction is provided to meet each student’s interests, needs, and strengths.
This spring class is the final class in this year-long, three-part drawing curriculum where participants learn the basics of drawing as a method to observe, design, and think about the world around them. By the end of the year, students should have a strong arsenal of drawing tricks and techniques in their pockets and an expanded idea of the possibilities and types of drawing that exist in the world today.
