Chavez Family Cellar
Carlos and Linda Chavez represent the American Dream for many immigrant families who work hard to become entrepreneurs and grow a successful business.
Just like their distinctive wines, the Chavez family story is a blend of hard work, a vision to create something new, a love of family and giving back to the community. Chavez Family Cellars was launched by Linda Chavez who was born and raised in the US while Carlos Chavez, her husband, who pressured by the war in El Salvador came to the US to join his mother in Los Angeles. Just like their wine their lives became a testimonial of grit and perseverance. They began making wine as a hobby in their garage in 2000, and by 2009 were fully launched and growing as a family business. While there have been many obstacles along the way including competing in an industry with many prestigious and well known wineries the Chavez family never stopped believing that they could find the resources to innovate and represent something new in the competitive landscape they found themselves in.
Over the years, the winery has won many awards especially for their exceptional Carlin's Blend Cabernet. What makes their wines so special is that the Chavez family have used their wine-making skills not just to grow their family business yet also to give back to many important community causes. Since launching, the Chavez family has donated or poured their wine for many non-profits that include: Los Cien, Healthcare Foundation of Sonoma County, Luther Burbank Center, Windsor Taco Fest and countless others.
Coming from humble beginnings to then creating a very successful enterprise that sells small batched artisan wines in Healdsburg, is at the heart of Chavez Family Cellars. Using their wine to create community ties throughout Sonoma County is a legacy that will not be forgotten for all those who have tasted their delicious wines at countless community events. The story of their wines are a story of family, dedication and excellence.
