Chalone Vineyard is the sole winery in the Chalone American Viticultural Area (AVA), a federally designated area that has climatic, geologic and geographic features that distinguish it from the land surrounding it.Chalone Vineyard is a winery located in Soledad, California. The wine at Chalone Vineyard is produced by Robert Cook. Chalone Vineyard, Home to one of the early pioneers in California viticulture, this remote vineyard is perched high in the Gavilan Mountain Range. The rich limestone soils, along with limited rainfall and low-yielding vine management, produce wines with distinctive aromas and bouquets. The specialty here is Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc, Chenin Blanc and Syrah.
