Albany Community Triathlon 2024
The community of Albany, California invites you to participate in a super short, super FUN, beginner-friendly, family-friendly, spectator-friendly triathlon to both boost your fitness AND raise money for Albany Middle School and Albany High School athletics and programs. In 2024, we will be closing in on $100,000 net proceeds raised since our event began in 2008. Thank to all of you participants, sponsors, volunteers and organizers for making that happen!
This year’s AlbanyTri is on Sunday, 22 September 2024!
The AlbanyTri is a super sprint triathlon for adults and kids, competing as individuals or in relay teams of 2-3 athletes.
The main course for participants ages 9 and up comprises three legs:
400m (425y) pool swim 17 lengths in your own split lane of the 25y outdoor pool
10 km (6.2 mile) bicycle ride 12 laps on the street around Albany High & Memorial Park
2.5 km (1.6 mile) run 3 laps on the sidewalk around Albany High & Memorial Park
Short course – a mini version of the main course for ages 6 and up (kids AND adults) includes:
70m (75y) pool swim (3 lengths in 25y outdoor pool, in own split lane)
2.5 km (1.6 mile) bike (3 laps around the block)
1 km (0.6 mile) run (1 lap around park)
Adults AND kids can compete in the short course! (prior to 2023 it was kids-only)
