First United Methodist Church

Since 1872, First United Methodist Church has served Birmingham and the surrounding community. While most congregations who were established in the downtown area have fled for greener pastures, First Church has kept the faith and remains committed to the entire Birmingham area and not just one small part.


What is your passion? How do you seek to worship or to serve? First Church believes in choices and options. That’s why we have three very different worship services every Sunday morning. That’s why we have a variety of classes and options almost every Wednesday evening. That’s why our small groups meet on different days at different times while studying different subjects.
