The 8 Best Seafood Restaurants in Alaska!

ak seafood

When it comes to seafood, few places in the world produce as much as Alaska. Whether it’s crab, halibut, or some of the best salmon in the world, you will find it in Alaskan waters. Of course that means there are also a whole bunch of awesome seafood restaurants in the state. Here are some of our favorites.

Alaska Fish House, Ketchikan, AK

The Alaska Fish House is not your typical on-the-water seafood restaurant with gorgeous views and fresh fish. It’s really more of a boat-to-grill-to plate affair. You don’t have to catch and cook your own meal, but at the Alaska Fish House you can. If you’re feeling like relaxing, though, dig into a bowl of their chowder or get some fresh Dungeness crab.

Tracy’s King Crab Shack, Juneau, AK

As you can probably tell from the name, Tracy’s King Crab Shack specializes in one thing: Alaskan king crab pulled fresh from the Bering Sea. This seasonal seafood spot serves single king crab legs, legs by the bucket, crab cakes, and a delicious crab bisque. Wash down your meal with a local Alaskan brew.

The Pump House, Fairbanks, AK

The Pump House is a Fairbanks fixture on the banks of the Chena River. Using fresh Alaskan seafood and many other locally-sourced ingredients, the Pump House creates classic and innovative dishes. With offerings that range from king crab to calamari, salmon to scallops, you’re sure to walk away from your meal with a buttery smile on your face.

The Cookery & Oyster Bar, Seward, AK

In Seward, folks are lucky enough to enjoy excellent seafood in an unpretentious setting at the Cookery & Oyster Bar. The award-winning chef prepares fresh catches for daily specials like halibut cheeks or pan-roasted coho salmon. The oysters are always fresh and available icy cold on the half shell or chargrilled in butter. And they taste great with a Frontiersman IPA.

Halibut Point Crab & Brew, Sitka, AK

Folks who love fresh Dungeness crab and locally-brewed beers should not pass up Halibut Point Crab & Brew when they’re in Sitka. The crab is locally harvested by a family from the island and prepared feesh to order. Don’t worry if dungies aren’t your thing, they do have king crab on the menu, as well.

Bridge Seafood Restaurant, Anchorage, AK

The award-winning Bridge Seafood Restaurant is a gorgeous structure – it’s built to span Ship Creek so, it’s actually a bridge. As you would expect, they construct their dishes from the freshest of Alaskan crab, scallops, rockfish, halibut, salmon, and oysters. They also make a stunning cioppino.

Skagway Fish Company, Skagway, AK

King crab, fresh halibut, seafood chowder, Alaskan beer, and gorgeous vistas of mountains over water. Sound alright to you? All you need do to have all this is head over to the Skagway Fish Company. They also have daily fish specials, as well as tacos made with the freshest catch possible.
