Our Mission
Cyrano’s is 501(c)3 not-for-profit theatre. We produce a wide variety of plays from new and original plays to Shakespeare, operating year round with a different play nearly every month. Nurturing regional talent is one of our most important goals. Cyrano's has employed actors and technicians from Juneau to Fairbanks and worked with UAA's Theatre Department graduates. In this respect, Cyrano's is a bridge or transition point from the academic to professional theater.
Cyrano's performers, technicians, directors and designers are dedicated to bringing the absolute best theatre to Anchorage audiences. In addition they have to make a living – a fact that considerably complicates the matter of making art! Cyrano's ultimate goal is to help talented artists practice their craft on a full-time basis.
Cyrano's is always looking for ways to support Alaska artists so they can can mature and grow here at home. Founding members Jerry and Sandy Harper received the 1997 - and presently receiving the 2016 - Governor's Arts Award for arts organizations in recognition of their work.
